Environmental Policy

The President and Managing Director attest that The Quality and Environmental Integrated management System in compliance with the International norms ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 14001:2004 applicable to "activities related to motorway management and planning of road works” has been implementedThe objectives of the Management System:

safeguarding and improving the quality and safety standards of customer service and environmental performance;
ensuring compliance with mandatory laws regarding the environment;
highlighting and providing continuity to the commitments made in quality and environmental issues, with prevention as a priority.

The continuous monitoring of the observance of the established standards is ensured by the activities described in the documents concerning the Integrated Quality and Environmental System. All company employees have been informed of the corporate objectives in terms of Quality and Environment and play an active role in achieving them. The Company makes human, material and financial resources available to ensure the correct implementation of the Integrated System and the achievement of the pre-defined objectives. The Company adopts the appropriate preventive measures so that the System is implemented in an efficacious and constant way, and it reserves the right to intervene opportunely with corrective and preventive actions, whenever deemed necessary. Education and job training of human resources is guaranteed by the periodic identification of training needs and the planning of appropriate educational and training activities.

Safeguarding the environment
Autostrada del Brennero believes that environment is a unique and primary resource. The Company has made the commitment to protect and enhance this natural patrimony, pledging to make continuous improvements and prevent pollution. Thus, the Company acts in line with the commitments made and the improvement measures already implemented and aspires wherever possible, to determine new objectives related to: reducing environmental impact deriving from any activity/service, such as atmospheric emissions, noise and ground pollution, for example by:

promoting rail transport and modes of combined transportation in general;
constructing anti-noise barriers and laying road surfaces composed of noise-reducing, self-draining or porous asphalt;
promoting the use of low-impact fuels;
taking part in promotion and development of alternative technologies that safeguard the environment;
monitoring transport of hazardous goods;

improving resource management by promoting the use of alternative energy sources, preventing waste and periodically checking consumption by:

using eco-friendly systems to power variable message signs, etc.;
increasing technologies aimed at saving resources (such as electricity, water, salt etc.).

These objectives and targets for improvement are determined and managed by the Integrated Quality and Environment System, which defines environmental programmes for the achievement of the set targets and carries out periodic controls of the results achieved.
