Plessi Museum Km 1.30
Opening hours 6:00 a.m.-10:00 p.m.
At the Brenner Pass, where the customs office between Italy and Austria once stood, a traditional motorway rest area has become a place where art, landscape and the local area come together.
The heart of the complex is the Plessi Museum, a spacious and light-filled area featuring large glass windows overlooking the Alpine landscape. It hosts video installations, graphic works and sculptures by Fabrizio Plessi, one of the best-known Italian artists on the international contemporary art scene, who died in 2026. At the centre of the exhibition area is “L’anima della natura”, a large-scale installation dedicated to water and the connection between Tyrol, South Tyrol and Trentino.
The first floor houses a fully equipped conference hall for conventions, cultural events, institutional meetings, presentations and other events. Its distinctive setting also makes it a meeting place for initiatives linked to the local area and to cross-border cooperation at the Brenner Pass.
The rest area also features a bar, a shop selling typical South Tyrolean products and other services for travellers, including charging stations for electric vehicles and heavy vehicles.
