User Assistance Centre (CAU)
The CAU is the company’s control, information and coordination centre. It is based at the Trento Centro motorway station and comprises a management area, the Traffic Control Centre (TCC), and an information area, the Traffic Information Centre (TIC). The CAU is connected to 241 cameras (158 for traffic monitoring, 70 in tunnels and 13 webcams), 429 SOS columns (approximately one every 1.5 km) and 26 weather stations, from which it receives real-time information on traffic, roadworks, weather and emergency calls. The staff (20 operators), working in shifts, process the information 24/7, coordinate interventions on the motorway and transmit alerts to the other emergency services responsible for responding (roadside assistance, medical emergency services, Fire Brigade) and, simultaneously, to the information channels dedicated to travellers: variable message signs (VMS), radio, website and Telegram.
