The Company guarantees high standards starting right from the design and development phase of the works thanks to a highly qualified in-house technical team that monitors the infrastructure’s evolution over time. This is complemented by an advanced maintenance model that, based on continuous monitoring via sensors, drones and digital platforms, enables constant monitoring of the condition of bridges, viaducts and major structures and allows any critical issues to be identified promptly. Operational management is reinforced by a comprehensive regional presence organised through the Motorway Safety Centres that ensure direct knowledge of the network and effective planning of interventions.

Monitoring and Maintenance

Through an integrated system of sensors and regular inspections carried out by specialist staff, the Company constantly monitors the condition of the road surface and engineering structures, promptly scheduling any necessary maintenance, repair or resurfacing work.

Bridges, viaducts and tunnels are kept under continuous monitoring of their structural, mechanical and electrochemical parameters. Significant structures, such as the bridge over the Po River and the Colle Isarco viaduct, are equipped with hundreds of sensors capable of detecting changes in structural behaviour and transmitting the data to digital analysis systems, which also use artificial intelligence algorithms to support predictive assessments and maintenance strategies. These systems are being progressively rolled out to all structures along the route, with a view to increasingly advanced and proactive infrastructure management.

Inside the tunnels, technological installations have also been fitted with remote control andcommand systems, managed by the User Assistance Centre (CAU), and AID (Automatic Incident Detection) systems for the automatic monitoring of traffic and the detection of any anomalies
or accidents.
