Museum area
The Plessi Museum is the first museum in Italy to be integrated into a motorway and is situated at the Brenner Pass, on the site of the historic motorway customs post.
Opened in 2013, the museum covers an area of approximately 2,500 square metres and is characterised by its glass and Corten steel structure that blends seamlessly into the Alpine landscape.
Inside, it houses a permanent exhibition dedicated to the artist Fabrizio Plessi, who died in 2026, featuring video installations, sculptures and works ranging from graphic art to painting.
Alongside the exhibition spaces, the museum includes a refreshment area with a café and a shop selling typical South Tyrolean products, as well as a conference room dedicated to cultural events and meetings.
The Plessi Museum thus serves as a place for meeting and exchange, where art, the local area and the European dimension dialogue with one another.
